Robert Lundahl graduated from the University of Oregon, Dept. of Architecture and Allied Arts with a B.F.A. 220 unit professional degree in Design.

His first job after college was filming celebrity fishing in Alaska for National Network Television.

Time spent outdoors and on rivers provided a valuable knowledge base for independent documentary features to come on Elwha River Dam Removal and Ecosystem Restoration, and on Mojave Desert ecosystem protection.

Both “Unconquering the Last Frontier,” and “Who Are My People?’ are subjective portrayals of complex environmental conflicts rising to the apex of importance in a time of climate variability and insecurity.

Lundahl had preciously worked in Silicon Valley and around the world for large clients like Sun Microsystems/Oracle, ATT, and IBM, filming in 23 countries. His work during this period, on the international series, “Digital Journey, Stories From a Networked Planet,” for US Public Television, CNN Europe, TVO Canada, CCTV China, and other networks and stations garnered 29 major awards including the Emmy®.

He is a consultant on policy and legal narratives and specializes in episodic content and campaigns focusing on the environment.

Perspective

Robert Lundahl’s work on the Elwha River Dam Removal, from 1993 to 2005, shooting a feature film for PBS and Free Speech TV, which he wrote and produced, and mounting a large scale photographic exhibit with the National Park Service, have produced results.

They provided a background case study and effective counter argument to those forces blocking restoration on both the Elwha and the Snake Rivers.

The two Elwha Dams were removed in 2011 in 2014. Substantial numbers of fish are returning.

His later film, “Who Are My People?” anticipated unchecked mineral development across the Western United States, concentrating on the large scale utility solar buildout, its permitting and, in general, a lack of adequate consultation with tribes. The film follows 4 Indigenous Elders as they take on the world's energy companies in the scrub and the sagebrush across the West

Previous endeavors in Silicon Valley marketing and PR created successful relationships with clients and suppliers and led to the award of an Emmy® to Mr. Lundahl for Best Direction on three short films shot in China, He worked with global environmental thought leaders including Amory Lovins, William McDonough, and Brasil’s Jaime Lerner, as a Sun Microsystems Master Vendor for over 12 years.

Agence concentrates on Technology, Culture, and the Environment, Social Context and Political Trends, providing valuable insights to clients.

The Beginning

Agence (Agence RLA, LLC, formerly Robert Lundahl and Associates, was founded in Santa Clara, California. Early clients were Tandem/Compaq, NASA, Hewlett Packard, Amdahl, and Fujitsu. The Company later began a long term (15 year) Master Vendor relationship with Sun Microsystems, now Oracle.

Today: Investor Education

The company–first release of a feature documentary film was Unconquering the Last Frontier (Bullfrog Films), about Elwha River dam removal and ecosystem restoration, first in the world (PBS/Cable).

Thus began a new chapter in environmental analysis and legal assessment related to policy change and investor education.

Lundahl’s work in Alaska and around the globe, on behalf of Native Tribes and groups, to enhance ongoing communications, is documented via Climate Change is Here™ Podcast Series on Apple Podcasts, and The Sky Ahead of Us™.

Robert is recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award, Tulalip Tribes Hibulb Cultural Center Film Festival, 2022.

Testimonials

Drea Burbank (She/Her) • 1st CEO @ Savimbo. MD-technologist, pacifist, and delinquent savant.

Wow Robert Lundahl is a rock star. First person to really capture all three Savimbo cofounders on camera.

Savimbo bridges cultures. And we struggle all the time to fully explain what that looks like. Robert is the first interviewer who took the time to really talk to all three of us at once and fully explore where and how Savimbo was formed and with what perspective.

I can’t thank Robert, Tracker, Creative Frontline, or KPFK 90.7 FM enough for really taking the time to translate what we have to say and including Fernando and Jhony in Spanish (they are always more eloquent than I can give justice to in my translations.

Nice work guys! A big ❤️

“I am sure you have heard by now, the fish are already starting to utilize the habitat up above where the projects used to be located. It is awesome, and it is going to keep getting better. I just want to say that I know in my heart that your film and the work you did had a huge impact on the ways things turned out and I am still very grateful to you for that work you did.”

“The communications and outreach conducted by Mr. Lundahl for La Cuna (Blythe, CA), Protect Our Communities Foundation (San Diego, CA), and CAlifornians For Renewable Energy – CARE (Santa Cruz, CA), played a major role in delaying or stopping some of the most damaging utility–scale projects in the Blythe area. He has also been an effective communicator of the no–impact urban rooftop solar alternative to high impact desert projects.”
